The Home Makers vs Home Breakers

(Titus 2v1-8 & Psalm 127 v1)

A home is more than a physical structure; it is a household—a family—established by God. It is made up of a husband and a wife who recognise Jesus Christ as the head and foundation of their union, allowing biblical principles to guide their daily lives. Such a home is marked by unconditional love, consistent prayer, and intentional obedience to God’s instructions, all of which nurture faith and godly character within the family.

While a physical house is constructed from material resources, a home is built by the Lord. As Psalm 127:1 reminds us, unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain. A true home requires the Lord’s involvement and the willing submission of both husband and wife to Him.

Conversely, homes are destroyed when individuals align with sin—through unfaithfulness, injustice, selfishness, and other vices that God clearly opposes. Scripture makes it clear that God hates such destruction of the home (Malachi 2:16).

The home is deeply important to the Lord for several reasons. First, it is meant to function as both a tabernacle and an altar—a place where God’s presence dwells and where the family meets with Him in worship. Second, it is a divine field where God plants the man and woman He has joined together so they may raise godly offspring for Him (Malachi 2:15). Third, the home is the primary setting where sound doctrine is lived out and taught, shaping men, women, and children with godly character (Titus 2:1; Acts 1:1). Finally, the home serves as the nerve centre of the church and, by extension, the community and the nation.

The Lord is calling everyone to respond with willingness, humility, and total surrender to Him, so that He may guide us to become homemakers rather than home breakers. May the Lord multiply the grace of a homemaker upon us all, in Jesus’ name

THE MYSTERRY OF HONOUR

Bible reading: Malachi 1:6-14.
Memory Verse: Rom 13:7: Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour Introduction: Honour refers to the esteem, respect, and reverence given to God, individuals, principles, or authorities.

To honour someone is to value such a person highly or bestow value upon them. Honor is a virtue that comes from God;
it should characterize our spiritual lives and all genuine believers wherever we find ourselves, either in the church or the larger community. God expects honour to flow from us naturally. Honor is a foundational principle for building a healthy, unified body of believers. This is an area where God wants us to concentrate our efforts and even outdo one another (Rom 12:10).

The weightiness of honour (Ps 29:1-2 & Ex 20:12):

Honour conveys the idea of something weighty or substantial, implying intrinsic worth and significance. Honour is the 5th commandment; the Lord commands it because of the weight that bestowing honour on the Lord and our parents carries. God deserves the utmost honour; His Name, His Person, and His Works are mighty. We are expected to accord Him the honour He deserves. We should also consider as very significant honouring our parents and seeing other people through God’s
love and treating them as valuable and significant

Outline 2:

Attributes of Honour:

Honour must be deliberate/ rendered willingly. Honour must be mutual: Romans 12:10. Honour must be without hypocrisy. Honour must be consistent and continuous. Honour must be with humility. Honour is a currency; it can procure whatever money can buy and even beyond that

Wonderful Story of Love

Wonderful story of love;
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love;
Wake the immortal strain!
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, oh, won’t you believe it?
Wonderful story of love.

  1. Refrain:
    Wonderful! Wonderful!
    Wonderful, wonderful story of love.

Wonderful story of love;
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love;
Still He doth call today;
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal-bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation,
Wonderful story of love.

Wonderful story of love;
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love;
For all the pure and blest,
Rest in those mansions above us,
With those who’ve gone on before us,
Singing the rapturous chorus,
Wonderful story of love.
